Laguna Beach....Ron Chespak's paper sculptures are elegant and meticulously crafted. He hand-cuts the various elements of each image from archival paper before assembling them into intricate compositions and mounting them in cast acrylic box frames. Chespak is especially adapt at re-creating plants with very smooth leaves and sculptural shapes such as orchids, birds of paradise, and Calla lilies. Some are done on pure white, while others are rendered in brilliant colors. Originally from the East Coast, Chespak moved to California in 1978 and has a BFA from California State University, Fullerton. He lives in Laguna Beach, where he exhibits in his gallery/studio. His paper sculpture can also be found at Stephanie Gallery in Palm Springs, CA and Design Forum in Newport Beach, CA.
