Olly-O-land Children's Art Museum features the unique collection of three-dimensional characters from the award-winning classic children's book The Whimsical Verse of Olly-O by Molly James. With paper sculpture by Ron Chespak and music by Hanna Barbara's Hoyt Curtin, you'll hear the author narration with the music as you view the 24 original paper sculptures that grace the pages of this fanciful book.

First written in 1961, and celebrating its 40th year, this collection of six classic stories was created in poetic verse to begin with delight and end with wisdom. The book was recently and delightfully recreated by this local artist. Written without ethnic or gender barriers, the book provides footsteps to the reader allowing anyone to become Olly-O. These ageless and entertaining short stories challenge the children and adults alike who join Olly-O in a variety of outdoor adventures. The Whimsical Verse of Olly-O is the recipient of Dr. Toy's Best Children's Product Award. An ABC World News interview proclaimed, "Sometimes you just can't beat a classic" and PBS TV regards Olly-O as "A grown-ups book for kids" while Newsday refers to it as "Noteworthy." See the original art and characters from the book in this exclusive Palm Springs Museum and Gift Shop.

With Olly-O now being sold in every FAO Schwarz Toy Store, Barnes & Noble, Borders, Rizzoli and all other major bookstores, the author and artist are, "Very proud to provide these exemplary values."

Author Molly James explains, "Olly-O promotes understanding and peaceful solutions to a variety of humorous conflicts." This wonderful verse is complemented by the original music composed by Hoyt Curtin, "King of Cartoon Music," well known for other memorable scores such as The Flintstones¸ The Jetsons and Yogi Bear to name a few. The Read-Along CD in the book includes the author narration accompanied by the Olly-O music.

Presently, author Molly James, at 70 plus years, is creating new stories for Olly-O. Molly attends signing from East to West, reading to children in classrooms and bookstores across the nation. She is currently completing her newest book, Ticket for Doing Seventy.
