Ron Chespak's wall-hung paper sculptures seem unlikely canidates for the two-dimensional canvas of a computer screen.

Even the best photograph, good lighting and all, is challenged to re-create the jaw-dropping effect these pieces have when the naked eye meets paper.

But Chespak isn't suffering from any pixelated delusions. He knew the limitations of the web when he launched his site in January and plotted ahead anyway. We liked that.

The Ron Chespak Gallery site uses a subtle storefront metaphor. To lure you in, there are two pieces: a pineapple, titled "Hospitality" and "The Gift". Good images to put a visitor in the right frame of mind to stay awhile.

Click on the link to the pineapple, and there's a close-up shot of the painstaking detail invested in the piece.

Dig deeper and you can persue his "Windows Series", which rewards the Web surfer with brilliant, bright colors against window panes of white.

In some ways the Web is actually perfect for the Ron Chespak Gallery.

Before they are framed or encased, Chespak's sculptures are so delicate that a fly's ... umm, how do we say this ... a fly's teeny, tiny discards can destroy thousands of dollars worth of work.

What you get on the Web is a look-but-can't-touch audience.

Chespak isn't out on the Internet alone. His page is part of NetCity, an Internet mall if you will.

One last parting thought. We like what we see so give us more, Ron.
